Quick answer: Our directory lists 15 low-cost dental clinics in Orlando, and 12 are community health centers with sliding-scale fees; 13 of the 15 accept Medicaid. Uninsured adults who need more than emergency care should start with the Orange Blossom Family Health sites or Community Health Centers Forest City, which see all ages. Many other Orlando health centers treat children fully but see adults for emergencies only, so ask when you call.
When I went through the 15 Orlando listings in our directory, all were in Orange County and all were open to the public: 12 community health centers, 2 dental hygiene school clinics and 1 Florida Department of Health dental clinic. Only 6 publish exact hours, so plan to call. Another 5 clinics sit nearby in Casselberry, Longwood, Apopka, Winter Garden and Kissimmee.
One thing stood out: several Orlando health centers list their dental services as full care for children, with adults seen for emergencies. That's useful if you're in pain, but if you're an adult who needs cleanings, fillings or dentures, pick a clinic that lists adult services.
Where can I get low-cost dental care in Orlando?
These are the clinics I'd start with: verified, open-to-the-public listings with fee and service details, spread from downtown and Forest City Road to Semoran Boulevard and Lake Underhill. Hours are what the clinic published and often cover the whole health center, so call to confirm dental hours.

Are there other cleaning options?
Concorde Career College Orlando Dental Hygiene Clinic also offers reduced-fee cleanings, x-rays and screenings, with students supervised by the program director and a licensed dentist. Its fees aren't published, so ask when you call. Our directory doesn't list a dental school in the Orlando area, so for fillings or extractions, a health center is the place to start.
Other Orlando health center sites include Community Health Centers - Pine Hills, Community Health Center - Bithlo Family Care and the Alafaya Health Center; each treats children and sees adults for emergencies.
Does Florida Medicaid cover dental care?
For children and young adults under 21, yes: Florida Medicaid covers full dental care, from checkups and cleanings to fillings and crowns. For adults 21 and older the benefit is limited. It mainly covers emergency care to relieve pain or infection, plus dentures. Medicaid members get dental benefits through one of the state's Statewide Medicaid Managed Care dental plans, and some plans add extras for adults, such as cleanings, so check with your plan.
If your kids don't qualify for Medicaid, Florida KidCare offers low-cost health and dental coverage. You can learn more at Insure Kids Now.
How much will I pay?
Most Orlando listings charge sliding-scale fees based on household income and size. The Orange Blossom sites list a $35 minimum dental visit charge; other clinics don't publish prices, so ask for an estimate before treatment. The hygiene schools charge reduced fees.
What should I bring to my first visit?
